I handed these to my 4-year-old and she spent a solid twenty minutes just comparing the wooden cylinders by weight before matching them up. The differences are subtle enough that it actually makes her concentrate instead of guessing.
The wooden cylinders are smooth and solid, and my four-year-old loves lining them up by weight without peeking. It's quietly become our go-to calm-down activity before nap.
My toddler actually sits still for a few minutes comparing these wooden cylinders, which is a small miracle. The different weights are subtle enough to make him really focus and think.
