The rubberwood pieces feel solid and smooth, no splinters even after weeks of daily play. My toddler counts the three shapes out loud while sorting, which is exactly what I hoped for.
My two-year-old figured out the circle first and now grabs the square every time we sit down to play. The three shapes are chunky enough for her small hands, and I like that it's rubberwood instead of plastic.
The rubberwood pieces have a nice weight to them, so my two-year-old can actually grip and place them without them sliding around. We've been using it to practice counting the corners out loud, and the shapes have held up fine after a few drops on the floor.
